It's not what you sell is in what you believe

BELIEVE

Today I was reading an article by Bill Taylor on Harvard Business Review with the same title as my post (sorry about that Bill).

Bill Taylor refers to a Q&A session with Tim Cook of Apple where he says:

"We believe that we are on the face of the earth to make great products, and that's not changing," Cook declared.
"We believe in the simple not the complex...We believe in saying no to thousands of products, so that we can really focus on the few that are truly important and meaningful to us," he added.
"We believe in deep collaboration and cross-pollination of our groups, which allow us to innovate in ways other cannot...And I think that regardless of who is in what job those values are so embedded in this company that Apple will do extremely well," he concluded.
So, what do we believe about cloud?

We believe we can really help companies to innovate and be more efficient.
For decades, progress was a matter of scale. It was true for the automobile industry, it was true for consumer electronics, it was true for other big fish gaming.

But, cloud is much more democratic. Small countries like Portugal have the exact same opportunities than larger economies. It's the brainware, it's the creativity more than the scale.

We clearly believe that this kind of approach can help companies development by adding flexibility and time to market.  It's so much more on the benefits side than on technological hype...
